Andrea Green

23-27 Albert road, Moonah

18 February -20 March, 2021

Andrea Green explores the biological and social restrictions that surround the female body in the contemporary age. Her work is a visual interrogation of the boundaries and experiences of modern-day femininity.

Roulette is a personal response to over a decade of using the contraceptive pill. Circular forms are a strong visual theme in the body of work, as well as hand sewn items called Suffolk puffs. This work sits against the backdrop of global debates around bodily autonomy, equality, and women’s rights, and the ongoing nature of the struggle for an equal, respectful world.

The exhibition will be opened by Jane Giblin.
