Anatomy of Life

Hannah Blackmore
Renae Grundy

Hannah has included 30 pen and ink drawings, each 10x10cm in size. Her relationship with the sea and natural world is the catalyst for the series, internal organs, found treasures and natural organisms individually depicted within a simple black frame evoke both serenity and simplicity.

Renae Grundy presents a series of small acrylics on canvas which focus on the life cycle process by depicting interactions between plant and animal organisms. Tranquil tones mask a darker undertone of intent here; the symbolism of the forms portrays a sense of foreboding doom, where life of all kinds always head towards death.
